Interior Lovers Gift Ideas

If there’s someone in your life that loves interiors (including yourself!!) check out this Gift Guide which I’ve complied for interior lovers.  This was an easy one to do – I just thought of what I’d love. This post contains affiliate links.

Gift Ideas

Interior Design Book

There are hundreds of Interior books out there.  There are books to teach you interior design as well as gorgeous coffee table books from designers sharing their homes and projects.  The one on my list is Lucy Gough’s The Home Style Handbook: How to make a home your own.  I heard about this book on the Great Indoors Podcast and straight away added it to my Christmas list.  It’s ‘a step-by-step, room-by-room guide to creating a home that reflects your personal style and the way you want to live - from acclaimed Australian-born stylist and online interiors tutor, Lucy Gough’

Home Décor Items

You can’t go wrong buying an item that you know the receiver would love.  What makes it even better is it they wouldn’t typically buy it for themselves.

A gorgeous vase with a bunch of flowers (or monthly flower subscription) is a lovely idea.

Festive cushions or Christmas décor is another idea especially for those who love the festive season.  And they will remember you every year they bring the decorations out.  Check out the M&S festive range.

Or Christmas crockery, there’s so many to chose from that would suit all budgets.

Someone reading a magazine

A magazine subscription

I’ve been the receiver of these in the past and I love them as you get a gift every month!!   So many magazines to choose from and they will fit with different budgets as well.  My personal fav is Elle Décor and Homes and Gardens

An online course

How fab would it be to be given the opportunity to go and learn about something you are passionate about.  The Create Academy offer course across a wide arrange of creative subjects, including interior design, crafting and gardening.  Prices are reasonable as well. You can get gift cards as well, so you could contribute to a course and then your loved one can pick their own course.  All the courses are presented by experts in their fields.  I’ve the upholstery course on my list.

Candles

Candles can really add to an interior so consider buying a good quality candle with a scent that you know they will love.  You can also get candles now where you can get refills so this will present you with more gift ideas at a later date.  There are companies now who provide subscriptions for candles so your loved one can receive a candle each month over the period of time you select.  Some of my fav candles are: Neom; The White Company and Skandinavisk.

House Plants

Real or faux – you decide which type your loved one will be comfortable with.  There’s so many places to pick up real plants now not just garden centres.  Dunelm have recently started stocking them and IKEA and the DIY stores usually have good selections.  Pair it with a container that will fit with their interior décor style and you can’t go wrong.

Handmade, vintage or antique finds

I think this is a great idea for someone who loves this type of décor.  It will typically be a one of a kind gift that they will always remember who gave it to them.  My fav places to find these types of finds are charity shops, antique shops and Etsy.  Decorative storage items are very useful in kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms and vintage paintings can be used on walls or on shelves or window sills.  Make it more personal and use a vintage frame to display a nice photo of you and your loved one.

Gorgeous festive plates from Anthropologie

A design consultation

If you know your loved one has plans to redecorate or is stuck with ideas why not book a consultation with an interior designer.  You could provide them with a list of questions to prepare for the meeting as part of the gift giving.  If it’s not an online consultation, make it a day out and go for lunch as well so you’re making memories and not just giving.

Tools

If your loved one is hands on why not add to their tool collection.  I don’t just mean the traditional type tools like drill or hammer.  Think about items that would make things easier for them such as a laser level, electric staple gun (that’s one on my list) or good quality painting supplies!

These are just a few ideas to get you started thinking about what your loved one might like and enjoy receiving.  Obviously don’t be buying them painting supplies if you know they hate painting or if you’ve been pestering them to complete a paint job.  You decide which ideas are the most appropriate for your gift. Let me know in the comments what other suggestions you have for gift giving.
