8 Reasons to Use Earthy Colours in Your Interior

Earthy colours are simply those colours that we experience in nature, be it greens for grass and foliage, brown for dirt, yellows for the sunrises and pinks or reds for sunsets. I’ve taken inspiration for the colours combinations I’ve used in my home from the stones we selected to use in our polished concrete floor. Initially, it was the colour green that I decorated with when we first moved in but I’m now being drawn to the warm earthy colours of brown and red in the floor. I can easily add these additional colours and tones with furniture and accessories.

Here’s some reasons why you should consider adding more earthy colours to your interior decorating palette:

  • The colours are natural and soothing and as they mimic the colours of nature and will evoke feelings of comfort, tranquility and relaxation. They will make your space feel more inviting and calming, so are perfect in living rooms or bedrooms.

  • Earthy tones are classic and will endure the test of time and won’t go out of style. This means you can invest in a bigger piece of furniture in an earthy colour you love and not feel you have to update it.
